What can we do to make sure we don't get all these junk emails ?

An effective way to reduce SPAM and junk email/mail is to join the email and telephone preference services. This places you on a list of poeple who have "opted out" of advertising.

Any business undertaking mass marketing, be that phone, traditional post and email - must use a copy of this list to avoid sending material to those on it, who have opted out. You are also able to report them for any breach of this code.

As well as this - any SPAM company has legal obligations under the data protection act 1984. They on request must supply you with details and copies of any data they hold about you. You can request copies of this data (normally for free) and they must also correct anything inaccurate.
